Under New Management
Science Discovery Dome has recently completed the purchase of Starlab Victoria. Nicholas Burbush, the owner of Science Discovery Dome, was employed by Starlab Victoria for over six years. All Starlab Victoria customers can be assured they will be receiving the same service, plus some improved updates to the software and equipment.
The STEM Challenge
The government is funding science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects in schools, so young people are equipped with skills for the future. But how do you develop a sense of wonder in children so they become open to the new worlds of STEM subjects? Topics such as the stars, space travel and extreme weather are always fascinating to children, so Science Discovery Dome can help young people engage with the world of science.
Our Programs
We travel to schools in city and country Victoria, with programs covering a full range of Australian curriculum science topics for primary or secondary levels in two formats: Science Discovery Dome Lessons and Fulldome Movies. All programs are presented in our portable planetariums.Benefits of the Dome Experience
Our inflatable planetarium domes are able to seat 30 (standard dome) to 60 (giant dome) students per session. They are safe and enjoyable, and help schools avoid the transport costs, fuss and expense of excursions, providing school incursions instead.
Since 1994, we have presented to approximately 750,000 children throughout country and city Victoria.
